Community Foundation Ireland is delighted to announce the appointment of Sally Gaynor as its new Chief Financial Officer.
Sally takes up the post as the Community Foundation’s combined grant-making in support of its mission ‘Equality For All In Thriving Communities’ surpasses €130M since 2000. She brings to the role 18-years of experience working in finance, in both professional services and in-house teams.
On her appointment as CFO, Sally Gaynor, said ‘the growing strategic role of Irish Philanthropy in delivering positive change makes this an exciting time to be joining Community Foundation Ireland. I look forward to providing the financial expertise and support to ensure the Foundation has the resources to deliver its equality mission.’
Denise Charlton, Chief Executive of the Foundation added ‘As a philanthropic hub it is important we have the capability and the resources to deliver our mission. Having financial expertise and knowledge is vital to ensure we can continue to deliver strategic and impactful partnerships for positive change, underpinned by best practice and governance. We are delighted that Sally has chosen to join us on this mission.’
Sally Gaynor is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA), having trained in KPMG early in her career. She most recently worked as Head of Finance in Drivalia Lease Ireland and prior to that was Senior Vice President of Client Accounting in Maples Fiduciary Services. Sally also holds an MSc in International Politics from Trinity College Dublin.
Outgoing Chief Financial Officer, Maeve McDonnell, is to work as a consultant and advisor to the Foundation on major projects.
